Having the view of the sea and built on the Cyclades land, the complex of the traditional residences “VathisThea” is an unexpected surprise for each guest.
Six traditional Cycladic residences, a comfortable bed with Simmons Treca mattress in each one of them, tranquility, a splendid view and countless stars ready to keep you company while you drink a cold glass of wine in one of our verandas.
We dreamt of and created a complex of traditional residences where the guest’s stay is not only limited to the residence itself but it is also expanded to the spacious verandas where the visitors can enjoy the unique view of the Aegean Sea while relaxing on a chaise long.

Our six traditional residences have all been built so that they have a view of the sea.
They have been built according to the Cycladic architecture which with its originality has made the Cyclades well-known all around the world beyond the borders of Greece. The residences are in complete harmonization with the environment and they are all adapted to the simplicity and the beauty of the Cycladic landscape
The construction of the residences has been made with local Cycladic stone which has been collected from both the plot of land of the construction and other places in Kythnos. Parts of the residences are built in the ground in order to conform with the natural environment and to take advantage of the steady temperature of the ground.
The planting and decoration of the external areas has been made with a lot of care and attention. We have only chosen local plants which need no or little water.
The lightning of the exterior spaces has been made with a lot of attention since we wanted first to save energy and secondly keep the simplicity of the place.

Environmental friendly philosophy
Our primary goal when building “Vathisthea” residences was to be friendly to the environment by saving energy.
For this reason we have built a water-tank where rain water is collected and then it is used for the needs of watering and cleaning.
We also use low energy light bulbs in all spaces where strong light is not necessary.
Finally, in order to save water all bathrooms have special batteries for saving water.
The contribution of our complex to the environment doesn’t end there. Managers as well as staff recycle while a part of waste is collected and composted.
